| Hello from http://www.pureshowers.co.uk the home of the BEST shower filter store in the UK and Ireland!,
South West Water have issued a BOIL WATER warning to all residents in the area after a burst water pipe occurred in the last couple of days.
Engineers have installed a temporary 30 metre long overland pipe to replace the four inch diameter mains pipe which burst near a stream close to Dove Cottages at Marshgate in North Cornwall. Full pressure has been restored and flushing operations are now being carried out.
However, a precautionary boil water notice will remain in force until the quality of supplies is confirmed by a monitoring programme over the next two days. Alternative water supplies have been offered to registered priority and vulnerable customers in the area concerned.
Boil water notices have been delivered to properties with guidance on what to do. Customers who wish to find out whether they are in the affected area should check the website (www.southwestwater.co.uk/northcornwall) for a full list of postcodes or phone 0800 169 1144.
A company spokesman said: "We would like to apologise all our customers in this area. The burst main was in a difficult to reach area and we issued the boil water notice as a precaution due to the risk of stream water entering the network.
"The notice will remain in place until we are completely satisfied there is no risk to public health. In the meantime, please remember to boil your water if you are using it for drinking and cooking."
We'd also like to remind people that it can be unsafe to drink water whilst in the shower or to please install a shower filter to remove any potential dangers in your shower water.
