Denbighshire Bridge Closed After Burst Water Main Date: 03/02/2010
Hello from http://www.pureshowers.co.uk the home of the BEST shower filter store in the UK and Ireland!,

Diversions could be in place for several weeks after a bridge in Denbighshire was damaged by a burst water main.

Engineers are assessing damage to Pont Cyffylliog, near Ruthin, which has been closed to vehicles.

Denbighshire council said it hoped the bridge would be open to light vehicles by Friday, once initial repairs are completed.

It said the main repairs to the bridge arch would take longer.

Motorists travelling to the village of Cyffyliog are unable to use the usual route, from Bontuchel.

They are being diverted along a narrow unclassified road used mostly by farmers, with few passing places.

A council spokeswoman said the main repairs to the bridge arch would take several weeks, but added: "Engineers are hoping to reopen the bridge to light vehicles only, over a reduced width of bridge, as soon as possible once surfacing and parapet repairs are complete.

"It is hoped this will be in place by Friday."
