Bottled Water Replaces Fizzy Drinks on CPI Date: 18/03/2010
Hello from http://www.pureshowers.co.uk the home of the BEST shower filter store in the UK and Ireland!,

Bottled Water Replaces Fizzy Drinks on CPI

It looks like our love for bottled water is increasing. So much so that it has now replaced fizzy drinks on the Consumer Price Index.

The Office of National Statistics collects about 180,000 prices every month for a basket of about 650 goods and services - the most comprehensive survey of its kind in the UK. A consumer price index (CPI) is a measure estimating the average price of consumer goods and services purchased by households. A consumer price index measures a price change for a constant market basket of goods and services from one period to the next within the same area. It is a price index determined by measuring the price of a standard group of goods meant to represent the typical market basket of a typical urban consumer.

The move reflects higher spending on smaller bottles of mineral water in the ''on-the-go'' drinks market in recent years, the ONS said.

This is definitely a good sign that we all are being much more health conscious about what we drink and what goes into our bodies. Let's not forget though that when we have a shower those chemicals and harmful aspects of the tap water that we wouldn't drink are more harmful for us that actually drinking them (as they are vaporised in the hot shower water and we then inhale them!)

Don't forget to install a shower filter to remove chemicals, limescale and heavy metals in your shower water. Protecting yourself and your family!
