Summer Health Tip from PureShowers.co.uk
So the last couple of summers here in the UK have not been anything to write home about. So we're probably not used to all this sun that we are getting! We just want to remind everybody that enjoying the sunshine is great for us, but please let's do it moderately and carefully. Exposure to the sun helps our bodies produce vitamin D. Ultraviolet rays from sunlight trigger vitamin D synthesis in the skin, creating vitamin D for our bodies to use.
Vitamin D has many benefits for us:
-
Maintains Your Calcium Balance
-
Aids Your Cell Differentiation
-
Has a Role in Insulin Secretion
-
Blood Pressure Regulation
Too much sun, though, will age our skin prematurely and will also cause harmful (and painful!) sunburn! So please consider when you step out of the house this summer to keep protected. Wear a hat, put on some sunscreen and keep protected from the harsh rays of the sun. Still don't forget to enjoy it! Who knows how long it will last???
Have a great summer,
