Activated Carbon filter is not recommended for hot water use because at temperatures above 40.6DegreesC (105degreesF) many of the contaminants absorbed by the carbon will slough off and re-enter the water. This is why hot water should never be used with carbon drinking water filters. In addition Activated Carbon filters are highly absorbent and become saturated within just hundreds of gallons versus thousands of gallons with KDF.
