This summer at least three water suppliers have confirmed that they will be increasing water tariffs in an attempt to curb a seasonal increase in water usage. Water companies have predicted that there might be water shortages this summer and hence have thought of 'creative' methods of using tariffs to decrease overall water usage.
Today Waltham Forest News has reported that Thames Water have confirmed to them that strangely smelling and tasting tap water in the borough has been caused by a chemical contamination.
A large pipe burst on the 1351 between Holton Health and Sandford, near Wareham on Wednesday night and four homes were at risk of flooding. The road was shut during the repair of the water main and reopened on Thursday afternoon. Emergency traffic lights have been put in place there whilst the work is being carried out and should be removed on Sunday.
